Yes, various medical lasers have been approved by the FDA to treat an array of skin conditions safely, and the practitioners at Aglow Clinic are certified doctors who are skilled and trained in the latest techniques so you can feel safe and be confident in our hands.
Lasers use highly focused laser beams that penetrate the skin at various depths. Different pigments absorb this energy at varying amounts with respect to its chromophore and wavelength of the laser . When the laser beam is directed onto pigmented age spots, the energy is absorbed by the targeted pigmented lesion where the extreme heat from the laser decimates and breaks apart the pigment, allowing the body's natural waste system to eventually remove them. Depending on the size of the age spot and other factors, more than one treatment may be necessary to ensure the best possible results.
Each person’s skin is different – so your response will vary, but the majority of our skin clients will face a minimal downtime. Signs like mild swelling, bruises and redness are expected after the procedure and will recover in 72 hours, generally. Your consultant will take you through a post-treatment care regime that will minimise any impact to your skin.
We don't advise our clients who have just done laser treatment to expose themself to the sun. However, it will be fine to continue your daily activity which may expose you to the sun. However, we urge that you have adequate sun protection such as putting on sunscreen, using an umbrella or wearing a hat.
It depends on the problems you are facing, some of our clients see results even after one session but multiple sessions may be required to see optimum results. We would suggest dropping by our clinic for a consultation session with our doctor, where we can examine the problem and provide better information.
